What do we see in this work of art?
The artwork “Dom Cat” shows the motif of a cat leaning against a wall, playful and almost with human composure. This mural was created by the Jena artist Sergej Uchatsch. The latter has already incorporated several cat motifs into his art and each time brings his own distinctive painting style. The majority of the artwork is actually white. This draws our attention directly to the center of the mural without exceeding this certain distance from the actual object. The house cat is leaning relaxed with his back against a wall and looking us directly in the eyes. You might get the impression that the cat feels caught because there are patches of color all around the animal. Perhaps the animal, cheeky as these little devils can be, ate some of a freshly baked cake and scattered the tolerable remains around the area.
